Dr. Leonardo Bandarra

Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr Leonardo Bandarra is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen, working on social-constructivist perspectives on nuclear verification, disarmament, and non-proliferation.  He is also a Senior Research Associate at the Middle East Treaty Organization (METO).

He holds a PhD in Social Sciences/ Political Science (2016-2021) from the University of Göttingen (“Summa Cum Lauda”), together with the German Institute of Global and Regional Studies (GIGA), in Hamburg, a Master’s and BA in International Relations from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and a University Diploma in International Nuclear Law from the University of Montpellier, together with the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency. He has published extensively on topics including  the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, nuclear latency, international regimes and institutions, International Relations theory, global history, Latin-American, Middle Eastern and Western European politics.
