Dr. Kim Westerich-Fellner
Postdoctoral Researcher
Kim Joana Westerich-Fellner is a postdoctoral researcher at Forschungszentrum Jülich and organizer of the Expert Panel on Nuclear Disarmament Verification (EXPAND). Her work focuses on nuclear disarmament verification. Before joining VeSPoTec, she was a Mercator Fellow on International Affairs, working at the European Council on Foreign Relations, the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in the United States, and Forschungszentrum Jülich, with a focus on nuclear disarmament, verification, and conventional arms control. She is also a member of the New European Voices on Existential Risk (NEVER) initiative of the European Leadership Network. Westerich-Fellner holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Münster (summa cum laude) and has conducted research stays at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, the University of Cambridge, and the Max Planck Institute.
