René Geiser is a research associate at the Political Science Institute at the RWTH Aachen University. He holds a B.A. in Social Sciences and a M.A. in Political Science from the RWTH Aachen University.
His main research focus lies on geopolitics and conflict studies in Asia highlighting security alliances and their implications on regional stability. Furthermore, he conducts research on the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and its consequences for the global world order, regional economy and nuclear (non-) proliferation. More specifically, he focusses on the economic diplomacy as a tool for political leverage related to verification- and proliferation challenges.
