René Geiser is a research associate in VeSPoTec at the Institute of Political Science at RWTH Aachen University, where his research focuses on the evolving global nuclear order, with particular attention to Chinese nuclear policy and perception gaps among nuclear-weapon states. His doctoral research examines China’s role as a transformative actor in the nuclear order, analyzing how it reshapes established norms, regimes, and power structures — with a focus on China’s nuclear doctrine, arsenal modernization, and its engagement with multilateral arms control frameworks. He holds an M.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Social Sciences, both from RWTH Aachen University.
